The gala of italianiamalta.com took place on 16 December 2016, with the patronage of the ANFE National Association of Emigrant Families.
It would be an understatement to speak of the italianiamalta.com gala as a simple dinner. The event, which took place in a charming Villa in Rabat, was much more!
The evening opened with a welcome speech by Paola Stranges who, together with Ivana Legname, organized the evening. Paola reminded us how italianiamalta.com has above all the function of acting as a bridge between different cultures, a meeting place for many people. And there were many different cultures on Friday evenings, from Japan to Siberia, obviously passing through Malta and Italy. In fact, the most beautiful side of this event was being able to meet so many fascinating people, so many stories of men and women united by the desire to meet and feel good together.

We were really many. For one evening it was like being at home!
Music, dance, good food and excellent wine
The event was punctuated by numerous flamenco numbers from the Malta Drama Center Flamenco Academy, curated by Svetlana Silina Floreani. Flamenco is a gypsy dance born in Spain, but not everyone knows that the first guitarist who invented the Sevillian Cafe was Italian. This enchanting and intriguing dance was chosen to symbolize the enrichment that comes from the meeting of different cultures, in fact the mission of italianiamalta.com is to maintain its own cultural traditions while opening up to international influences. The look of the dancers was curated by the hairdresser Trucco e Parrucco and by the hairdresser Cristina Alli.
During the event, guests were able to enjoy fantastic dishes prepared by the Santini restaurant. It was not simply a question of eating good food, but of living a sensory experience based on the reinterpretation of traditional dishes. The courses were accompanied by an excellent selection of wines proposed by the Colle San Mauro winery, which warmed up the evening.

The splendid setting of the Villa for an evening enclosed an entire multiform galaxy of stories. There were mostly stories of people far from their land. But there was no nostalgia, there was just so much joy to live a unique and shared experience. The guests appreciated the photos, taken by the photographer Suman Cona, whom we thank for his patience and professionalism. We also thank Valeria Notarstefano who with her expertise made a decisive contribution to the success of the evening. The Malta Garden Herbal Shop has honored guests with their products.
An experience that will materialize also thanks to www.italiani.it, the network of Italians in Italy and around the world, which aims to unite Italians from all over the world in a unique experience of sharing and rediscovering our excellence.
