La Mouth Library, in Milan, in the heart of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, is the oldest in all of Italy, given that its foundation dates back to 1775 and houses precious works.

It's an Historical place d'Italia under the patronage of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, historical place of the Lombardy Region since 2006. Historical workshop of the Municipality of Milan since 2005. Bookshop elected by the FAI Fund for the Italian Environment place of the heart in 2007. Co-founder of the 'Cultural Association of Historical and Antiquarian Libraries of Italy. Gold Medal of the Milan Chamber of Commerce. 

It is a small library specializing in art books. It houses a treasure trove of first editions that have made the history of Italian and, in some cases, international culture. It was founded by brothers Giovanni Antonio Sebastiano and Secondo Bocca, natives of Asti. The bookshop has had five locations in the past: Paris, Florence, Rome, Turin and Milan.

The art of selling art books

A space of fifty square meters – much loved by the world of art and fashion, but also by tourists – with walls covered with shelves among sculptures, paintings and works by contemporary artists. Giorgio Lodetti, is the current owner. The functions that were once centralized are divided into four autonomous divisions, closely connected to each other: retail sales, divided between foreign and national books, the production of books and newspapers, the promotion of cultural events, exhibitions of artists, Awards with international juries, book presentations, conferences and debates.

A place loved and frequented by artists such as: Sandro Miller, Gianni Versace, Federico Zeri, Giuseppe Pontiggia, Giorgio Mondadori, Giovanni Spadolini, Gianfranco Ferré.

Today it is one of the most appreciated and frequented cultural salons of the city by writers and contemporary personalities, as well as an important place of historical memory and culture.
