In recent years, thanks to social media, a new method is slowly spreading to color one's nails in a completely innovative way: it is the technique Dip Powder.
Literally it means that the nails are "immersed" in a powder, which can be colored, glittered, with sequins ... according to the whimsy of each of us.
These powders are composed of acrylic and allow you to strengthen and repair nails (even broken and damaged ones!), As well as extend their life compared to nail polishes and semi-permanent.
How does the Dip Powder work?
Operation is really simple.
1. Clean the nail from any residues of other glazes previously applied;

It definitely has the comfort of the gel because the application procedure is really fast, but also the durability of acrylic as it can last up to 30 days.
The powders are odorless and available in numerous colors and it is also possible to create infinite sets of new shades simply by mixing the various pigments.
The UV lamp is no longer used because there is no need!
The colors are easily found online and the price is affordable (on average about 40 €).
Cons
And here we are at the sore point ... the CONS of the Dip Power technique.
Perhaps the biggest one is related to the powder content which just doesn't make them the healthiest choice for nails! It is, in fact, the pigment MMD, an extremely dangerous excipient, almost like acrylic.
Another weakness is his removal, which would appear to be very harmful to the nail surface.
Here are the steps to take:
1. File the nail thus eliminating the various layers of dust and enamel;
2. Apply a soaked cotton ball to the solvent and wrap your finger in a faluminum foil;
3. Wait 10 minutes and remove everything.
4. Complete the job with a cuticle pusher and remove any residue
The procedure is not complex but, if done by inexperienced hands, it risks damaging the nails.
So be careful not to do it at home!

Summing up, it is possible to say that the Dip Powder technique is truly revolutionary but we must pay attention to the powders used.
Buy only nail polish powders of proven quality, on the internet there are many dubious low-cost powders but of which the content is not known. Avoid them!
Go only to professional beauty centers and salons which will guarantee the use of materials of excellent workmanship and safe for our nails and our health.
