The "Bottega del Caffè" of Millesimo, in the province of all in the province of Savona , launches a curious proposal that goes against the trend: coffee at 70 cents for those who bring their own cup, spoon and sugar. The ingenious idea has two objectives: to lower the cost of coffee, which has risen considerably in recent times, and to reduce the environmental impact of each cup. This, in spite of the recent price increases in the catering world and the controversies aroused in recent days regarding some items appearing too many on the receipt.

Those "excess" items on the receipt

Not just coffee. Also in Liguria, a few days ago, the item "sharing saucer" caused a lot of discussion, for the cost of 2 euros, relating to the addition of an empty saucer, used by a woman to let her daughter taste the trofie. And how can we forget the supplement required for a toast cut in two in the Pace bar in Gera Lario, in the province of Como?

The coffee initiative at a reduced price will start on Monday

The idea of the owners of the "Bottega il Caffè" was born for fun. The Venturino family, made up of Elio, his wife Marina and their daughter Valentina commented on the recent controversy arising from the surcharges on receipts, when the light bulb went on for Elio. Why not do the exact opposite? For some months, in fact, due to the increase in raw materials, they too had been forced to increase the cost of a cup of coffee to 1,20 euros.

“With this gimmick – declared Valentina – we have balanced. Furthermore, in doing so we also support the environment because electricity and detergent consumption are reduced”. The initiative will kick off on Monday 14 August and was greeted with surprise and curiosity by the residents and tourists present in Millesimo. This, which could become a new way of drinking coffee, is actually a practice already widespread in many cities in Northern Europe.
