The project

"The project by MCA Mario Cucinella Architects” declared the General Commissioner for Italy Mario Andrea Vattani “reflects the Italian identity in a contemporary and high-impact key, and expresses the values at the base of our culture: an idea of space deeply rooted in our tradition of squares, theaters and gardens, and a culture of doing, based on interactions real between people. "

The structure will bring together the most representative values of Italian culture in a single work and will be a real stage. The aim will be to reveal how, in the past and in the present, there is the possibility of giving life to a society capable of generating innovation, sustainability and well-being and of overcoming the conflicts between natural and artificial.

A tribute to the Renaissance

The designed building is inspired by Ideal city, a tempera painting on wood datable between 1470 and 1490 and kept in the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche in Urbino. The work, one of the symbolic images of the Italian Renaissance, saw the light at the refined Urbino court of Federico da Montefeltro and has been alternately attributed to artists such as: Piero della Francesca, Luciano Laurana, Francesco di Giorgio Martini. A large circular building stands out in the center of a large square.

The construction of the structure

The Italian Pavilion will be hosted in the district 'Saving life' within lot A9, which has an area of 3.626 m2.538, of which XNUMX are buildable. The estimate for the construction of the structure is around 24 million.

The link with our past in future perspective always appears inseparable as the celebration of the values of our Renaissance.
