“Villas to Read” arrives at Villa Molin-Avezzù

The cycle of events of Villas to Read is part of this year's edition of the show Veneto Books: a series of regional initiatives promoted by Veneto publishing houses, events that will conclude on December 15th.

What Veneto Books?

Veneto Books is an initiative organized thanks to the collaboration of two associations, City Venete dell'Adige and Editori Veneti. The latter brings together small and medium-sized publishing companies in the Veneto region, with direct support from the region. the cycle Villas to Read It consists of ten appointments, the first of which was held on August 25th at Tenuta Ca' Zen in Taglio di Po. There it was presented Diego Crivellari's book "Writers and Myth in the Po Delta", which unites literature and sentiment in black and white.

Each meeting of the initiative focuses on our region and its culture, history, the vast array of contemporary art, and Venetian civilization, but not only that. Its history and contemporary society are highlighted, and above all, the aim is to promote the rich heritage of the Venetian Villas. These offer a unique landscape and architecture, as does the region's diverse publishing output.

The September and October meetings

The opening meeting was followed by two events in September. Thursday 8th “Half a Penny” by Cinzia Zuccarini, winner of the third edition of the literary competition Lorenzo Da Ponte, set in Venice at the end of the 700th century. It was held in the splendid setting of Villa Maffei Costalunga of Castegnero. On Thursday the 22nd, instead, the presentation of "Pellico, a Tourist by Force. Traveling through the Prisons of Half of Europe", written by Sergio Tazzer and published by Kellermann Editore. The latter Villa Palazzoli in San Giovanni Lupatoto.

today, Thursday October 6, the wonderful Villa Molin-Avezzù in Fratta Polesine host Sergio Frigo, who will present his book "The Places of Venetian Writers," published by Mazzanti Libri. The author will also be present for the occasion. Luca Azzano CantaruttiAn opening tour of the villa has been planned for the meeting. The book offers a journey through breathtaking Veneto locations, and its presentation will be followed by a farewell toast. Of course, there is no shortage of in-depth analysis and a large and very interesting photographic repertoire to show the prestige of the work itself.

Continuing with the events, Villa Ormaneto will host in Cerea, Thursday October 20, the presentation of the book by Carlo Rubini "Microcosms and Landscapes. Geonarratives in the Northeast," published by Ediciclo Editore, collects the thoughts of a geographer, the author himself, on the environmental, cultural, and social landscape of the Northeast. And again Thursday October 27 a Villa Cagnoni Boniotti, Gognano of Villamarzana, you will be able to discover “Bread and nuts” of Lucio Montecchio: fragments that bring together reflections addressed to the reader, regarding the drastic changes that the reclaimed lands of the Veneto have experienced from the Second World War to today.

The events continue throughout November and December in Verona, Vicenza, and Venice, with other exciting offerings. Below is the full flyer so you don't miss them.
