Villa Grace, the House of Franco Battiato a Milos (CT), will soon get the bond of cultural asset. This is what was decided by the Superintendence of Cultural and Environmental Heritage of Catania, which initiated the procedures di declaration of cultural interest for the house so loved bySicilian artist. To complete the required procedure and affix the bond of cultural property at Villa Grazia it will take approx 120 days. The procedure is a bit complex but, both the superintendent, Donatella April, is theCouncilor of Cultural Heritage and Sicilian Identity, Alberto Samona, they say they are confident that this can happen without problems. The idea, in fact, is to transform Villa Grace in a kind of music museum, which can pay homage to the man and the artist Franco Battiato.
Villa Grazia: place of meditation and music, so dear to Battiato
Battiato loved the Sicilia, Milo and also Villa Grace (name chosen in honor of his mother, to whom he was very attached). That house right on the slopes of Etna, it was for him a place to relax with reading and meditation. Among other things, the Sicilian singer-songwriter had decided to have his staff installed there too recording studio, where you can experiment and record your own music. Over the years Villa Grazia has also become meeting place for other artists who came to visit Battiato. Between these Ron e Lucio Dalla. The latter then, remained enchanted by Sicily and the splendid landscape of Milo, decided to buy a house not far from that of the Sicilian artist but, unlike Villa Grazia, the heirs of from they decided to sell the house after the death of the Bolognese singer-songwriter, which occurred in 2012.
Also The villa where Franco Battiato died last 18st May at the age of 76 years it was put up for sale a few years ago on a real estate site. Fortunately, the announcement was then withdrawn by the same family in a very short time. Now this can no longer happen. Becoming Villa Grace un cultural asset, this can no longer be put up for sale. It is very likely, in fact, that the house so dear to the singer-songwriter will soon become a place of pilgrimage for the many fans from all over the world who want to pay homage to the eclectic artist, author of unforgettable songs, such as "The cure”(Written together with the philosopher and friend Manlio Sgalambro). The memory of the artist Battiato it will remain forever in the future Villa Grazia house-museum. For this to happen, all that remains is to wait 120 days for the closure of the process to affix the bond of cultural property.
