Tibetan bridge

The longest Tibetan bridge project in the world

The longest Tibetan bridge in the world was born from a project supported by the Lombardy Region and will be built with seven steel ropes. Two will be used to support the treads interspersed by the void, two for the handrail and three as safety ropes). It will be possible to use this path only and exclusively wearing a harness and inserting a continuous lifeline. It will thus be possible to travel 505 meters in total safety thanks to the use of a carabiner. This work will enhance the territory and the quarry, as well as the route of the ancient Via Mercatorum even if only by air.

The project from 10 million euro was conceived by four young people from the town of Dossena. An initiative that immediately found the approval of the Lombardy Region. The idea of the boys is to build the Tibetan bridge within a structured path that will allow to relaunch tourism in Dossena. A long-term plan of territorial-local development with the requalification of existing accommodation facilities and the creation of new interventions and services.

The rediscovery of tourism in Val Brembana

"Summer 2020 was the rediscovery of proximity tourism. Concerned mainly mountain areas and lakes“, These are the words of the councilor for local authorities, mountains and small municipalities, Massimo Sertori. "An opportunity for the Lombards to rediscover splendid and attractive territories, too often underestimated in the past. We are convinced that this trend is positive - explains Sertori - it will also continue in the upcoming summer season and, as the Lombardy Region, we are at the forefront to promote tourism in the Lombard mountain areas which unfortunately have suffered a long stop in the winter season".

The tourism relaunch plan in Dossena also includes the construction of new structures and services, the enhancement of the landscape through the promotion of the territory and the environment and - finally - the relaunch of attractiveness through the recovery and enhancement of the existing heritage. This last area includes, for example, the Paglio Pignolino mining area in which the renovation works of the external houses have been completed, which will become the seat of a museum and laboratories. Work is also underway to fine-tune the adventure park in mine, the first in Italy and second in Europe to be able to boast this characteristic setting, with the installation of suspension bridges, adhering walls and pulley flights, for which we hope to open in the coming months.
