We are all on the hunt for Easter eggs, whether they are for us or to give to our loved ones. If for children we prefer to opt for solutions that present tempting gifts for them, such as Disney or Marvel characters, different speech when it comes to adults. Whether it is a gift made to oneself or to others, we tend to prefer quality above all else. But do we really know how to choose Easter eggs?

Easter eggs: which ones to choose

The simplest advice you can give when hunting for Easter eggs is to give priority to the quality of the chocolate of which it is composed. This means not just looking at the brand. We need to focus on the label, which needs to be analyzed carefully. Better that the list of ingredients is not particularly long and, fundamental, that there is the first place cocoa paste. If it is at the top of the list, it means that it is the ingredient in the greatest quantity.

If we are talking about dark chocolate, the paste must not be less than 45% (by law). In milk chocolate, however, it must not be less than 25% (in white it is totally absent). Here are some other helpful tips to keep in mind:

  • The higher the quantity of cocoa mass, the lower the presence of sugars
  • An excellent chocolate boasts a percentage greater than 50%
  • Quantity of cocoa butter present at least at 28%
  • Presence of vegetable oils or fats other than cocoa butter indicate low quality chocolate
  • Preference to eggs without artificial flavors
  • Preference to sugar alone, without the addition of industrial sweeteners
  • A quality chocolate does not have lecithin
