A great Italian party in Chile celebrated the first two years of life of itChile, the online newspaper that is part of italiani.it, the network of Italians in the world. The event, which took place on Saturday 26 November, was organized by Mirtha Aldunce, head of itChile, and her team, with the support of the italiani.it Foundation. The party also had a charitable purpose because it made it possible to raise funds. They will serve to keep the historic building of L'Umanitaria alive and to assign Italian language scholarships offered by foundation italiani.it.
Illustrious guests
The itChile Italian party turned out to be a real success, which involved the many guests who attended until late. The Italian Ambassador to Chile, Mauro Battocchi, who did not fail to send his compliments to the editorial staff, was absent, but only physically. Among the prominent personalities present at the event were: Nello Gargiulo, representative for Chile at the CGIE; Christina DiGiorgio, director of the Italian Cultural Institute of Santiago de Chile; Carla Dellape, consultant of the Province of Trento in Chile; Claudio Curelli, president of COM.IT.ES Chile; Millaray Gonzalez, secretary of COM.IT.ES; David Piacenti, adviser of COM.IT.ES.
With them also: Andres Buschiazzo, councilor of the Ligurian Association of Chile; Raphael DeLaPuente, manager in charge of young people of the Puglia Region Association in Chile; Mario Tapia, secretary of the Calabrian Association of Chile; Dino Gervasoni, representative of the PUOI association of professionals of Italian origin; Niccolo Giacometti, Italian chef; Bernardo Tornini-Scola, director of the Casa Tornini de Caldera Museum; Paola Podesta, artist; Pompa Italia's honorary firefighter and Italian teacher Mario Mancuso.
Music and gastronomy in the name of Italy
The itChile Italian party was full of different moments: it combined Italian singing, dancing, gastronomy and music, charity. All united by the love that Italians living abroad have for our country. The singers were also present at the appointment, which began at 19 pm Elias Cantillana e Ana Carla di Monte, and the comedian Rodrigo Salinas.
The public was pleasantly involved with songs, dances and moments of fun. During the evening, the competition for the "best Italian dress" also took place, which rewarded "the gondolier" and "the Ferrari girl". The gifts to the winners were offered by the sponsors of the evening: Aperol, Peroni, Campari, Riccadonna, Disaronno, Oggi Santiago and Globe Italia, who enriched the party with their excellent products.

In these two years of life, itChile has promoted Italian culture in the world, pursuing the aim of Italiani.it, which has been working in this direction for years together with the Foundation of the same name. The latter proposes, in particular, to create a network of compatriots in order to promote Italy and the Italian spirit. It aims to strengthen the bond between Italians in the world and to strengthen their sense of belonging. It does this through the dissemination of language, culture, science, traditions, art, music, sport, and the promotion of Italian products. Soon, supporters of the italiani.it Foundation will be able to become members. In fact, it is ready for donations and is organizing itself to be able to offer cards to anyone who wants to support it.
