The 2022 edition of Umbria Jazz 22 is in full swing in Perugia and will continue until July 17. After the problems of the past years dictated by the pandemic, the concerts free outdoors. Umbrian Jazz

The music festival confirms its inclusive identity and not just for fans. After all, it was born with this mission in 1973: free music in the squares, for everyone. Good music also as a pleasant soundtrack for those who want to enjoy Umbrian cuisine in the characteristic restaurants of the historic center. And, again, the space dedicated to children in the gardens of theArena Santa Giuliana, UJ4Kids.

The programming at the Morlacchi theater began with the special edition of Enrico Rava to continue with Dado Moroni. Concerts have also begun at the Podiani Hall of the National Gallery of Umbria with Mathis Picard, Anais Drago, Tellkujira and Franco D'Andrea.

Towards the fiftieth anniversary edition

Among the non-musical events, the presentation of the book by Marco Molendini should be highlighted "Pepito, The Prince of Jazz", held at the Feltrinelli Bookshop. To meet the needs of the Umbria Jazz audience, the Minimetrò (automatic transport system typical of Perugia) will extend its hours from 8 to 17 July until 01.45. The festival will conclude on July 17 with the highly anticipated concert by Jeff Beck, with Johnny Depp special guest. Event already sold out.

“We are very satisfied because we have worked hard and for this I must first of all thank the staff of the festival. All fabulous as always. The review has resumed its path with all its historic stages, such as that of the Carducci Gardens and also with a new space in Piazza Matteotti, the “swing area”. Thus the president of Umbria Jazz, Gian Luca Laurenzi which adds: "The thoughts of the Umbria Jazz staff are already turned to the 2023 edition, that of the 50th anniversary. Our artistic director Carlo Pagnotta is already working on the Umbria Jazz XNUMXth birthday program ”.
