Born in the province of Livorno, he is among the Italian centenarians who have experienced historical, cultural and linguistic transformations. He now lives in Cecina for years where he has been loved and well-liked by everyone so much that he has become a symbol. He managed a fruit and vegetable shop in Piazza Carducci with his wife Tosca, with whom he had two children, one of whom died tagically. He lives in via Trieste in the Campaciocchi district. He loved car racing and was a runner in the Targa Cecina in which he finished fourth in 1929.
In addition to being the oldest in Italy, Tripolino Giannini is also the second longest-lived in Europe and the sixth in the world and also the longest-lived man in Tuscany. He survived multiple epidemics, from Spanish to Covid.
It's also the Italy's oldest bersagliere.
The party for Tripolino
Italy's oldest grandfather, despite his aches and pains, is in good health, is clear-headed, interactive, talks to everyone and loves relationships. He wants to be a genuine Cecinese.
Tripolino celebrated his birthday at home with a party attended by friends and relatives as well as themunicipal administration of Cecina with the deputy mayor Antonio Giuseppe Costantino, the municipal councilor Mauro Niccolini and the representatives of the local clubs of theNational Association of Bersaglieri.
Surrounded by the affection and love of everyone, from his five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The secret of its longevity
Tripolino has answered many times to those who asked him what was the secret to living so long and well and has always replied by saying that it is the climate of his Cecina that favors his condition, eating little, having played sports, having had a few drinks of good wine and avoided smoking. He wanted to live each day intensely and simply, recognizing it as a great gift.
Best wishes to this grandfather who has the history of Italy in his heart and eyes and still has a great desire to live!
