Comunicato stampa
It starts on July 14th, with a program that brings together art, poetry, writing and music, between Gubbio, Scheggia and Sigillo “Umbria in Voce” returns, a celebration of happiness that brings together talent and society. The presentation of the event is supported by the Municipality of Gubbio. Workshops, concerts and performances will alternate. A festival of the voice that brings together art, poetry and music in an articulated and developed program between woods and cities, libraries and stages.
The event, in its eighth edition, was born with the aim of creating a junction point between everything that is "voice" and the themes of well-being and community growth. In the words of the artistic director Claudia Fofi "Umbria in Voce" will not be a traditional event, but "a real party to which people will be welcomed and called to participate with their voice, their creativity and their talents, people who from a passive audience will become an active part of the artistic and educational process ". Of a demonstration "Capable of having a keen eye on the whole territory and the entire internal area" spoke the commissioner Minelli, who described the appointment of "Umbria in voce" as "an event capable of bringing together many talents and offering important opportunities to young people looking for high-level artistic experiences ". It will therefore not be a festival, Umbria in Voce, but a collection of “Training and transformative actions for a happier territory”. And it was precisely on the concept of happiness that Stirati spoke at the press conference: "It is nice that the term "happiness" is used, a word that derives from the Latin and reminds us of the concept of fertility, wealth, full satisfaction. And it is also important, in my opinion, that it focuses on educational events, merging different and multiple experiences and finally overcoming borders and separations ”.
The rich program of "Umbria in voce ”starts on July 14th in the Sperelliana Library, in Gubbio, with the presentation of the book by Giulia Nardi "Transparent", an autobiographical journey through illustrations and poems on the theme of eating disorders.
From 15 to 17 July we move to Scheggia, where an artistic residency is planned on the construction of the vocal performance in collaboration with the Teatro della Fama.
Also in Scheggia the 16th July a day full of events for lovers of oral tradition singing and poetic improvisations in octave rhyme, with an open stage at night that invites poets and musicians to participate.
From 18 to 27 July we move to Gubbio with the traditional program of Umbria in Voce Kids, coordinated and directed by Giulia Nardi: events for children from 0 to 13 years. In particular, this year it will be possible to participate in the small choir of Umbria in Voce led by Michele Fumanti. Also in these days there are numerous appointments of art therapy, music therapy and creative writing for adults, led by skilled professionals of the area: Cathy Fiorucci, Francesca Nicchi, Riccardo Ruspi, Giulia Borsini.
On July 30 we go to Sigillo, Al Fondino Music School, for the “Songwriting Summer Camp”, a day of total immersion in song writing, aimed at those who write poetry and lyrics, who sing, play and strum at all ages. The experience, led by a team of Michele Menichetti, Paolo Ceccarelli, Claudia Fofi and Carla Gariazzo, ends in the evening with a presentation concert open to the public.
Coming to the month of September, great emotion for the return to Gubbio on 2 September of Albert Hera, one of the greatest masters in the world of circle singing, a student of Bobby Mc Ferrin, for a three-hour workshop that is certainly exciting. On the evening of the 2nd we continue with "The city sings, intertwining stones and voices ", five choirs in five points of the city, for a walk among the gospel of the Trasimeno Gospel Choir, the madrigals of the Tritonus Vocal Group, the popular songs of the Tarantarci Ensemble, the Cor Ensemble and with the participation extraordinary of Serenologists. A proposal that will allow visitors to explore unusual and beautiful places in Gubbio and to meet the true "genius loci" of this city. The night at The Village pub continues with the party of the voice, a jam session open to all fans of singing, accompanied by Gregorio Paffi.
The day of September 3 continues with a workshop of oral tradition songs from southern Italy, a seminar to approach Gregorian chant with Lorenzo Cannelli and a mystical singing experience led by Claudia Bombardella and the collaboration of the Floriano Canal ensemble. As always, it closes with Federico Giubilei, president of the Umbria in Voce association, who will offer a seminar on vocal technique on Sunday morning for a holistic approach to the voice instrument.
