Climate Action Week began on Friday, September 20th. A week of mobilization to address the crisis. climate, which will culminate on September 27th in the third Global Climate Strike. The FLC-CGIL, which supported the student protests linked to Friday for Future in March, has called for an all-staff strike on September 27th. This includes the Education and Research Department, management, university professors, and all vocational training and non-state school staff.

In Campobasso, Friday For Future representatives, in collaboration with student organizations, are also organizing mobilization initiatives. These include screenings of themed documentaries in schools, development of school plans for waste sorting, and thematic discussions on the issues. environmentalFinally, culminating the week of mobilization, a public meeting will be held on Friday the 27th at 9:00 a.m. in Piazza Musenga, Villetta dei Cannoni, concurrent with the demonstrations taking place in squares across Italy. The meeting will discuss, among other things, transportation, the climate emergency, and sustainable cities.

We believe that the world of knowledge can make an irreplaceable contribution to addressing the climate and ecological crisis. Research, educating younger generations on environmental issues, and learning lifestyles that respect the limits imposed by nature are all directions we must follow. On the one hand, to prevent the collapse of our ecosystem, and on the other, to push governments to make major investments aimed at an ecological transition, respectful of the principles of social, environmental, and climate justice. As a union, therefore, we believe that Fridays For Future's invitation should be heeded. It is addressed to teachers, administrators, and school staff, to actively participate in, promote, and disseminate the mobilization initiatives planned in our region.
Third Global Climate, and again…
We are convinced that the fight for a livable planet and the fight for workers' rights are intimately connected. So is the fight against social inequality, which means that the burden of environmental costs falls on the lowest levels of the pyramid: workers, the unemployed, students, migrants, and retirees. For all these reasons, the Flc CGIL is joining the strike on September 27th and supporting all the initiatives related to Climate Action Week. We are also promoting a major public event at the CNR in Rome to discuss the climate and ecological crisis and the role of the world of knowledge in combating it.
