Universal prayer to eradicate the pandemic. For today, March 25 at 12,00, Pope Francesco established the recitation of the Our father with Christians of all confessions. Day after tomorrow, Friday 27 March at 18,00 pm, in the churchyard of St. Peter's Basilica the Holy Father will preside over theadoration of the Blessed Sacrament and will give the Urbi et Orb blessingi.
These are two important spiritual events that the Pontiff strongly desired to unite the community of Christians more and more. All in prayer with the Pope that the serious health emergency that is affecting Italy and many countries around the world, end as soon as possible.
The prayer of all Christians against the pandemic
"Humanity trembles at the threat of the pandemic". Pope Francis lives with evident suffering this terribly difficult period for the whole of humanity, so much so that he strongly wanted all Christian confessions to pray together.
"I invite all the heads of the Churches and the leaders of all the Christian communities, together with all the Christians of the various confessions. I invite them to invoke the Most High, Almighty God, while simultaneously reciting the Our Father". This is the appeal of the Pontiff who decided the moment for choral prayer today, the day on which the Church remembers the announcement of the Incarnate Word.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the Urbi et Orbi blessing
For Friday 27 March at 18,00 pm, the Pope announced a moment of prayer in the churchyard of the Saint Peter Basilica. The square will of course be empty but ideally thousands of faithful will be present. “We will listen to the Word of God, we will raise our supplication, we will adore the Blessed Sacrament, with which at the end I will give the Urbi et Orbi blessing”.
These are the words of the Holy Father who also assured the possibility of receiving a plenary indulgence. "To the pandemic of the virus - Pope Bergoglio underlined - we want to respond with the universality of the preghiera, of compassion, of tenderness. We remain united. We make our closeness felt to the loneliest and most tried people ”.
The Pope's prayer for those who continue to work risking contagion
"Our closeness to doctors, health workers, nurses, volunteers". It is the heartfelt thought of the Pope to those who work on the front line every day for the good of the community, risking contracting the virus.
"Our closeness to the authorities who have to take tough measures, but for our goodor - the Holy Father points out - Our closeness to the policemen, to the soldiers who on the street always try to keep order so that the things that the government asks to be done for the good of all of us are done. Proximity to all ".
