According to the Think Thank Foundation, the Upper Adriatic is the first seaside tourist destination in Italy. In this regard, the foundation would like to underline that in 2021 and 2022 the number of tourists on the beaches of the Upper Adriatic exceeded those on the Riviera Romagnola.
Upper Adriatic
In the light of these data, the goal is to develop the attractiveness also in spring and autumn, to keep the structures open at least eight months a year. The beaches of Cavallino, Jesolo, Eraclea, Caorle, Bibione (Venice), Lignano (Udine) and Grado (Gorizia), located between Veneto e Friuli Venezia Giulia, they recorded 27,1 million visitors in 2022. This, against the 26,5 of the Riviera Romagnola. But already in 2021, with the return of foreign visitors after the pandemic, the overtaking had taken place: 23,3 million against 22,6. The Romagna Riviera has excelled in this comparison since the beginning of the 2004s: in 2,4 it had XNUMX million more overnight stays than theUpper Adriatic and maintained this record until 2020.
The performance is even more significant when compared to the number of tourist destinations and the length of the coast: the Upper Adriatic is made up of seven locations (Cavallino, Jesolo, Eraclea, Caorle, Bibione, Lignano and Grado). While the coast of Romagna counts on at least 10 destinations (Comacchio, the shores of Ravenna, Cervia, Cesenatico, the shores of Forlì, Bellaria-Igea Marina, Rimini, Riccione, Misano and Cattolica). Furthermore, the length of the Upper Adriatic coast is 113 kilometres, against the total 140 of the Romagna. Now, the growth prospects are aimed above all at spring and autumn, the low season periods for which we want to undertake a new promotional campaign for staggered holidays throughout the year.
