The purpose of this site, covering approximately 44 hectares, is obviously to preserve nature. It was created in 1990, on the southern coastal section of Rosolina Mare, in the province of Rovigo. It is part of the Veneto Regional Park of the Po Delta. Three types of trails are available: the first, which is the shortest and focuses on plants (yellow trail); the second, which includes the pine forest, dunes, and beach (red trail); and the last, which also passes through the brackish waters, passing through the wetlands (marked in blue).
The yellow route passes through the pine forest and is essentially the furthest from the sea. There appears to be a picnic area with benches just before it begins, where you can grab a bite to eat, rest after your walk, or have lunch, as there are no refreshment areas within the area. It should be a sand-free walk and accessible to all. Along the red route, however, you'll pass through various environments except the wetlands, where you'll be able to smell the scents and feel the caress of the wind, lulled by the sound of the sea, and enjoy a view that is certainly deeply moving and relaxing. Given the presence of sand, I don't think it's easy to tackle, so consider your needs carefully before embarking on it. The last trail is the blue one. The most exciting part is undoubtedly the walk suspended above the water, from which you can admire the lagoon in all its splendor. The two walks are completely interconnected.
There's a fee to visit the botanical garden only, but it's free if you want to visit the beach. Imagine the spectacle at sunrise or sunset. It's sure to be exceptionally intense. There are five habitats considered threatened, 220 different plant species, and the chance to admire rare wild orchids. Wooden walkways are also used along the paths to avoid ruining the surrounding landscape. Average walking times are 45, 120, and 180 minutes. The Botanical Garden is open Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM from April to October, and from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM from April, May, and from September 19th to October inclusive. From June to September 18th, it's open from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Guided tours are also available from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm. Admission is very affordable: €2,50.
