The very young champion talks about the extraordinary victory on his Facebook profile. “That child who started playing table tennis and who cherished so many dreams, today realizes one of the biggest dreams of his life by winning an absolute world championship at just 19 years old. Thus entering the history of Italy by becoming the first world champion table tennis player. I've been working like a pro for many years now to achieve the biggest dreams of an athlete, and today I'm on top of the world by winning a world Championship extremely difficult against opponents of a great technical depth.
I'm happy, that's exactly how I feel, extremely satisfied with this result because it's a crazy result at a time that could have been the most difficult of my life since diabetes, discovered a few weeks ago, had questioned my participation at the world championships. But, as always in my life, I faced the problems as a personal challenge and I was very ready at the right moment. If I have reached this point, I owe it to my family who have always believed in me and supported me on a daily basis".
