November XNUMXth: “A day like any other”, someone will say. “A 'musical' day”, someone else will say given the repetition of the first two syllables. "An important day", finally, the most diehard fan will thunder: the day that gave birth to Biagio Antonacci. And we of italiani.it we tag along in making the happy Birthday to a great Italian musician.
A career full of successes
Born below the Madonnina on November 9, 1963 from an Apulian father and a Milanese mother, Biagio, despite playing drums as a child, did not immediately see his future in music. He graduated from the surveyor and he enlisted in the Carabinieri. After finishing the Student School a Torino he serves in Garlasco and it is there that his path crosses the path of music. The mediator of this meeting is nothing less than Ron: subjects it to an audition and presents it to the Stadio who hire him to open their concert. It is the first time that Biagio sets foot on a stage and takes so much pleasure in it as to abandon everything else. The second stage that treads on is the most precious one, the one that makes even the most successful of artists tremble: the stage of Sanremo. He made his debut in 88, in the New Proposals section, with I want to live in a moment.
It does not break at the Italian Song Festival but success comes anyway in the following years. In 89 the first album was released These things happen. And from there he published others 25: 14 in the studio, 2 live, 10 collections. Free me, you make me feel good, Unexpected, I knew how to say no, Dedications and manias, are just some of the records that have brought him satisfaction and success.
His name has resonated in the major stadiums, in the largest palaces and in the main squares of Italy and abroad. It has become an icon of our music landscape. With his warm voice, recognizable from the first la, the Latin rhythm and the engaging air entered the hearts of all of us. In over 30 years of career he has sold millions of records: only 800.000 with the two parts of Living together. And one million six hundred thousand gathered followers on Facebook.
Biagio Antonacci singer and more
Biagio Antonacci is not only a guitarist; he is not only a singer: he is also, and above all, an author. In addition to having written the vast majority of his lyrics, he has produced songs for the most beautiful voices of Italian music. Syria, the Stadio, Raffaella Carrà and the great Mia Martini. And for Mietta, for Mina and Annalisa Minetti. For Alessandra Amoroso and Laura Pausini. Furthermore, with Laura, the lasting collaboration went much further, turning into a pure and strong friendship. The two, in fact, toured Italy this summer with the Laura Biagio Stadiums Tour 2019. Throughout his career he has collaborated with Zucchero, Tiziano Ferro, Leona Lewis and Rebecca Ferguson, among others.
Apart from successes and music, we like to underline Antonacci's social commitment. Cultivating his passion for football he joined the Italian national singers thus contributing to the noble cause of financing aid projects. And in the past he collaborated with Don Piero Gelmini in various actions for the recovery of marginalized young people. On the other hand, as Van Gogh said, an artist "Must have a loving heart for other men". And Antonacci has it!
Today he turns 56 and we send him our warmest wishes!
