Is called Urban creativity in Italy and it is the project to which the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, through the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity (DGCC), is about to give shape in order to enhance the vast Italian heritage of contemporary artistic works in the open air. A mapping but not only: a real one before purchasing, survey scientific on the urban creativity of our country, a critical survey on national territory.
A project that was felt the need and that will allow those who want it to approach with more awareness, from North to south, to these particular forms of expression. Within the program a special section entitled Art in public spaces it will allow to deepen the knowledge of street art thanks to the contributions of a research committee, contributions of historical-artistic, socio-cultural and regulatory value.
The enhancement program of the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity (DGCC), which in recent years has handled key projects such as theItalian Council, New York Award and the Italy Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, ultimately provides for the activation of one first Italian map of urban creativity. It will include works of street art, murals e graffiti. The detailed investigation will be conducted in collaboration with inside, National Observatory on Urban Creativity, with which MiBACT has stipulated an ad hoc agreement.
Since 2004 inside (International Network on Writing Art Research and Development) deals with research and development of urban creativity (street art, urban design, graffiti, muralism) within public, private, no profit e international, has in its staff a team of researchers and teachers, offers business consultancy, and promotes the best street artist Italian and international.
In Urban creativity in Italy its scientific committee will have the task of studying and disseminating knowledge on the increasingly present phenomenon of street art. Not just graffiti, but to all related forms of expression: from denouncing muralism to the world of urban design.

A sign of consideration and interest on the part of this General Management towards a complex and dynamic reality which, although under the eyes of all, today needs cognitive attention under various aspects ".
