“I wanted, I always wanted, very strongly I wanted” Vittorio Alfieri said. A phrase that fits perfectly for the company just built by Sofia Goggia. The skier has achieved a historic result after a serious injury that she suffered only 23 days ago: she won silver Olympics, in today's race.

The crazy result of Sofia Goggia

Just 23 days ago, Goggia suffered an injury in Cortina, complete with a sprained left knee, partial cruciate ligament injury and a microfracture of the fibula. In a few days she managed not only to get back on skis, but also to win a medal. The umpteenth injury of her, a few days after the big event of the Olympics, did not knock her down but she managed to achieve a crazy result. Goggia is fierce and as a warrior she first faced the injury and then the race that allowed her to reach the much desired podium.

The medal table at the Olympics

At the moment it is there Norway in first place in the medal table of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games. Norway has won 12 Olympic golds and 7 silver medals. Same number for bronze medals: 7 medals making a total of 26 medals for Norway. A great detachment from the others. In fact, Germany ranks second with “only” 15 medals: 8 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze. The USA closes the current podium with 17 total medals, but fewer golds than Germany (the USA has 7). The United States of America then won 6 silver medals and 4 gold medals.

Then come Austria, the Netherlands, China, Sweden and Switzerland. Italy is currently eleventh in the medal table of Olympic Games with 13 medals in total: 2 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals. The hope is that Italy can win other gold medals and get back on top in the medal table.
