Sinner wins the 2026 Madrid Open

Jannik Sinner is the king of Madrid. The world number one won the 2026 Madrid Open, defeating Alexander Zverev with a resounding 6-1, 6-2 victory in just 57 minutes of play. He dominated the final from start to finish, never giving the German a chance.

The most surprising fact is the historical one: this is the fifth consecutive Masters 1000 won by the South Tyrolean, an all-time record that no player had ever achieved before, not even Federer, Nadal or Djokovic, who have stuck with four.

In the ATP rankings, Sinner climbs to 14.350 points, more than 1.300 points ahead of Alcaraz. His next event is the Rome Masters, where the Italian crowd awaits another feat.
