The intent of the author
The dentist's ability to make the patient understand the nature of the services is at the basis of the acceptance of treatment plans and adherence to therapeutic paths. Understanding is essential for the patient.
Too often it is assumed that the patient has everything clear, even if his understanding has not occurred. This book serves to increase the effectiveness of communication between dentist and patient, especially in the case of some therapies that are difficult to understand or for which there is an overload of information.
The book
As in any medical field, the doctor-patient relationship is also of primary importance in dentistry. Modern dentistry has increasingly taken on the character of more or less complex oral surgery with the execution of interventions that require prolonged times that cannot be performed in a single session and are often traumatizing. If, on the one hand, it is true that the odontostomatologist has increasingly refined his scientific knowledge, he has probably not paid as much attention to the psychosomatic implications. Often anxious patients find themselves in an uncomfortable situation that leads them to abandon treatment or not deal with it completely. The odontostomatologist must understand these situations and give adequate, understandable and suitable answers to the type of patient being treated. It is always bad to present yourself in a hurry as it is equally to be submissive and extremely talkative. The anxious patient feels the need to be reassured and to understand the treatment he will be subjected to.

Dr. Ennio Calabria
Ennio Calabria graduated with honors in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics at the University of Messina. He continues his post-graduate university training by participating in the "Postgraduate Course in Reconstructive Periodontal Surgery" and subsequently the "Postgraduate Postgraduate Implant Surgery Course". In a second phase, he dedicates his studies to the deepening of homeopathic medicine by first participating in the "Triennial Course of Homeopathy" at the Noble Homeopathic College of the Order of Doctors and Dentists of Catanzaro, then obtaining three university masters. Since 2007 he has been registered in the Register of Practitioners of Alternative Medicine for Homeopathy and Homotoxicology. At the same time, he dedicates himself in his clinical practice, mainly to oral and implant-prosthetic surgery. In fact, he continued his university training in the surgical field by participating in the "Course of Surgical Techniques of Bone and Soft Tissue Reconstruction" held by Prof. Jean F. Gaudy in Paris and obtaining the "II level Master in Oral Surgery". He recently took part in the advanced course of “Soft tissue surgery around teeth and implants”. His clinical experience on minimally invasive implant surgical methods led him over the years to develop, in collaboration with the MACO Dental Care company, a new type of short dental implants, with innovative characteristics (subsequently registered with the name "IM-Macon Easy Conic "), Developing a dedicated surgical technique. Doctor Calabria has been invited as a speaker at numerous national and international conferences and to report on his experience in the field of short dental implants in various university training courses such as the “Postgraduate Course in Surgery.
