The Communiqué
Below is the statement from the Sports Judge: "The sports judge, based on the findings of the official documents, announced the disciplinary measures after the sixteenth matchday of the Serie C group C championship.
The Sports Judge, having noted that from the reports acquired in the documents (referee report, referee report supplement, federal proc. r., RCC, photographic documentation) shows that the supporters of the Brindisi Club, positioned in the Curva Sud Sector, launched:
- at approximately the 66th minute of the second half, a dozen smoke bombs were fired on the pitch, causing, with this conduct, the burning of the turf and the suspension of the match by the Referee for approximately four minutes to allow the Fire Brigade Fire the removal of the same;
- in approximately the 69th minute of the match, a smoke bomb on the pitch caused, with this conduct, a further delay in the resumption of the game to allow the Fire Brigade to remove it;
- in the 90th minute of the match, two smoke bombs and a half-full bottle of water, without consequences.
Considered that the facts indicated above are contrary to the rules on order and safety and constitute violent acts committed by its supporters which constitute a danger to public safety and that they are characterized by particular gravity, as they caused the suspension of the race for a total time of approximately five minutes, they represented a significant risk to the safety of members and service workers and caused damage to the turf.
Considering the previous conduct carried out by Brindisi supporters, in general, and, in particular, by those who occupy the Curva Sud, of a similar nature to that which is the subject of this decision (see CU
71/DIV of 2.11.2023 and CU n. 93/DIV of 27.11.2023).
Considered that the repetition of conduct of the same nature, of particular gravity and danger represents an important element of evaluation regarding the dosimetry and adequacy of the sanction:
Having seen the articles. 6, 13, paragraph 2, 25 and 26 CGS, having assessed the overall nature of the facts,
- considered that, in the graduation of the sanctions provided for by the combined provisions of the articles. 26 and 8
CGS is fair to impose the sanction of a fine and the obligation to play the match with one or more sectors without spectators; - resolves to sanction the BRINDISI Club with the obligation to play a home match with the sector called Curva Sud, without spectators and with the imposition of a FINE of EURO 1000,00.
It is specified that the home match to be played with the Curva Sud Sector without spectators inflicted on the Brindisi Club will have to be discounted in the Championship starting from the second home day of the Championship following the date of publication of this decision in order to allow the implementation of the necessary organizational measures (arbitration r., supplement to the arbitral r., r. Arbitration Assistant n.1, r. Arbitration Assistant n.2, r. IV Official, r. fed proceedings, civil liability insurance, photographic documentation, obligation to pay damages if required)."
