40 years after the assassination of Carlo Alberto from the Church, arrives on Rai Uno the fiction on the general of the Carabinieri, played by Sergio Castellitto. Rai thus decides to dedicate a TV series to a man who was, and who remains, a symbol for the Italian state. A man brutally killed by the mafia in the massacre of via Carini, which will never be forgotten.

It is September 3, 1982 when, a Palermo, General Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa loses his life aboard the car driven by his wife Emanuela Setti Carraro, who was also killed. With them, the escort agent Domenico Russo. Now, Dalla Chiesa's life is back in a Rai fiction. A fiction starring the award-winning actor Sergio Castellitto, David di Donatello for “Three columns in the chronicle”, “The great watermelon”, “Don't move”, “The man of the stars” and “The hour of religion”.
The series on Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa, written by Monica Zapelli and Peppe Fiore, bears the signature of Lucio Pellegrini and Andrea Jublin. Rai Fiction will produce it, in collaboration with Stand By Me. The four episodes will tell the story of the brave general of the Carabinieri who - in the XNUMXs - created the Special Counter-terrorism Unit. A group equipped with innovative means, and made up of selected young Carabinieri, whose goal was to fight the Red Brigades. Not only that: the miniseries will also tell the story of Dalla Chiesa's return to Palermo in 1982. Here, with the role of Prefect, he took on the role of fight the mafia replicating the same method used to fight the Red Brigades. The General's office lasted only a few months, interrupted by that tragic 3 September when - at the hands of Cosa Nostra - lost his life. The dates on which the fiction will be broadcast have not yet been decided, however Rai intends to broadcast it by the end of 2022, the year in which the XNUMXth anniversary of the Via Carini massacre is celebrated.
