The training-creative path
Serena Gilè studied at the Art Institute of Syracuse and then Architecture at the University of Palermo. There she began working as a freelance architect. Both her profession and the distance from family and friends brought out her creativity. Serena has always used postcards to communicate, and began customizing them with paper. A completely versatile material that gives rise to countless creative forms. Paper can be used in the most unusual ways, and there are countless variations of this material that allow anyone to express themselves as they wish.
The woman is a paper designer: with the paper he represents different themes, from landscapes to portraits, up to Sicilian symbols such as prickly pears and composing small subjects in the manner of comicSerena Gilè brings together the profession of architecture and the use of paper. A true declination of art, since it allows us to manifest what is part of the imagination. Serena, in particular, draws on photos of Ortigia taken directly by her, cuts them out, and then inserts them into a landscape created using the collage technique. Pieces of paper, joined together, and combined with the modeled photos, give rise to original creations. From a young age, Serena and her siblings have been driven by creativity. They've always followed this path, so much so that they're currently working on a project together. A synergy between their skills and professions has resulted in something innovative. As for the Gilè brothers, both are graphic designers. Carlo, in particular, is a set designer, while Dennis develops websites.
For Serena Gilè, paper is a precious resource, allowing for complete freedom of expression due to its flexibility and spontaneity. This is a characteristic that intrigues many children.
