Minister Valditara announces the absolute ban on cell phones in class, already anticipated with the previous circular of 2022 which, however, made an exception for cases in which they were authorized by teachers for teaching purposes, "in accordance with the institute regulations.
The Minister, speaking at the conference 'The artificial school - Evolutionary age and technological evolution' held in Rome, explained that he had signed a circular which from the next school year prohibits the use of mobile phones for any purpose, including educational purposes, specifying that this does not concern the use of the tablet or computer used under the guidance of the teacher.
The return of the paper diary
At the same conference the Minister of Education and Merit, Joseph Vallettara, also announced the return to the paper diary for homework, with the aim of getting the kids used to writing and their relationship with pen and paper again.
The electronic register will remain active on which parents will continue to monitor the activities carried out at school, written and oral grades and everything relating to their children's teaching.
Personally, I love to invite young people and the very young to keep a paper diary (even if it is necessary to use paper sparingly). The habit of writing and memorizing, as well as the use of logic, are disappearing in the new generations. If we entrust everything to technology, we turn off man. However, at school it is right to keep some technologies to create interactive lessons and promote learning by following different channels and methods.
