Lo train strike on February 12th involves Trenitalia, Italo and Trenord for the duration of 8 hours, from 9.00 to 17.00. This protest, organized by the Base Cub and Usb unions, impacts various railway services, including high-speed, regional and long-distance trains, together with rail freight transport and RFI technical staff.

Train strike 12 February: the reasons

The reasons behind this union protest are rooted in the lack of response from the RFI management regarding the contract renewal of railway workers, a crucial issue for workers in the sector.

The unions, expressing their dissent, contest the sector agreement signed on 10 January, which they believe puts the workers rights, both in terms of wages and regarding safety in the workplace.

Guaranteed times

As regards the regional trains, Trenitalia has taken steps to establish essential services in the busiest time slots, ranging from 06:00 to 09:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00 on weekdays.

Despite efforts to ensure minimum services, it is important to note that cancellations or changes to train routes may still occur. In order to provide support to users, the company has made available a list of guaranteed national trains and encourages them to check the list of regional trains via the Trenitalia app and the official web site.
