Piacenza, 7 July 2021 - Great party in the prestigious Hall of Palazzo Gotico, heart of Piacenza, with the Forum "There is a country where Food Masterpieces have always been made", organized to celebrate the 50 anniversary of the Constitution of the Consorzio Salumi Tipici Piacentini (1971) e the 25th anniversary of the attribution of the Protected Designation of Origin for the Coppa Piacentina, Salame Piacentino and Pancetta Piacentina, the only ones in Europe to boast the prestigious brand for three cured meats.
It was attended, among others, by the founding members of the Consortium, the Presidents who have guided it over the years and, for institutional greetings, the Mayor and President of the Province Patrizia Barbieri and the Vice-Prefect Luigi Swich.
The Forum opened with an "off-screen voice" that recalled that Saturday 8 May 1971 when a group of cured meats producers, namely Enrico Albanesi, Giovanni Bignami, Guido Coppelli, Luigi Fiocchi, Emilio and Gian Pietro Gagliardi, Pierino Magni, Giulio Marchionni, Enrico Nicelli, Emiliano Panini, Luigi Piazza and Maria Blowjob, found themselves in front of the Governor's Palace in a crowded Piazza Cavalli, because it was a Saturday, market day, and together they climbed the stairs to the first floor of the Chamber. of Commerce where they found Dr. Renzo Buvoli, the “director” of that operation and the notary Almerico Vegezzi who read them the deed of incorporation of the Consortium on which they then signed.
A historic moment underlined by the presence of two of the founding members: Luigi Fiocchi which reaffirmed the family value of the companies e Luigi Piazza which underlined the artisanal characterization that still distinguishes the charcuterie work, despite the appropriate technological updating in favor of safety and quality.
After them Antonio Manini, Francesco Muselli, Roberto Belli and the current president Antonio Grossetti, retraced other "topical" moments for the promotion and growth on the markets, not only in Italy, of a Consortium where innovation is still combined today with tradition and with the challenge for the near future. A clear vision with important projects such as that of Food District PDO Piacentini cured meats which completely involve the territory, starting from the raw material produced in the farms.
"To have the necessary resources, it is also essential to participate in project calls, from regional to national and European ones, which always involve investments by members, albeit supported by public funding, with Bodies and Institutions - he recalled Antonio Grossetti, President of the Piacentini PDO Salami Consortium - who have always been close and attentive to the needs of the Consortium and its enhancement action ".
“A Europe that is increasingly attentive to the environment and sustainability - he recalled Paolo de castro, Vice-President of the EU Agriculture Commission, in his speech, without, however, creating complications and bureaucracy, strengthening the tools for managing the offer ".
“United you win - It reaffirmed Lorenzo Beretta, President of ISIT (Institute of Protected Italian Salami) - and Piacenza has a lot to teach for the safeguarding of a production system (the delicatessen) which is a feather in the cap of the Italian agri-food system, an exceptional history of tradition that unites the territories that represent it ".
"We'll see - commented the Director General of Mipaaf Luigi Polizzi - what will be the practical application of the Brussels political agreements; seriousness, honesty, passion: these are the values that I have identified in this Consortium that has pursued with determination a vision of tradition and innovation with the territories that are often forerunners ".
The Councilor for Agriculture of the Emilia Romagna Region has promoted the need for an agreement with the catering sector Alessio mommy which he emphasized “The example of continuity of the Piacenza Consortium that protects and promotes extraordinary products, of a food that is also a cultural element. Our task is to be support for companies to make products known, for internationalization strategies and to protect food quality and safety ".
Then the delivery of diplomas and certificates for all the protagonists, thanks to the food technologist Alessandra Scansani for the capable collaboration with the Consortium and the associated companies and to the secretary Lorella Ferrari for the precious and tireless presence in the activity of the Consortium that looks to the future with trust, strengthened by its extraordinary past.
All sanctioned by the cutting of the cake for these prestigious goals at the panoramic terrace of the Hotel Roma with an APERIDOP proposed by Daniele Reponi with the three DOP Piacenza cured meats accompanied (naturally) by the wines of the Consortium for the protection of DOC Piacenza wines, in short, the best of the territory.
