Strongly symbolic are the dates that mark the opening and closing of the Venice Boat Show this year. The event, now in its third edition, opens today, Saturday 28 May, and tomorrow Sunday 29 is the day on which the centuries-old tradition of the marriage of Venice to its sea is celebrated every year. It will close on Sunday 5th June on the occasion of the Vogalonga. A more recent but deeply rooted annual event: forty kilometers to be traveled with strictly non-motor boats between the canals and islands of the lagoon. Strengthened by these two cornerstones, the event considered one of the most important, in the nautical world, in the whole eastern Mediterranean is off to a great start. From Lebanon to Venice, it is the only one of the Mediterranean sea.
The numbers: in the great ferment that currently runs through the sector, the boats on display are growing, plus 25 percent. 200 exhibitors for about 300 boats arrived at the Venice Boat Show, 240 of which in the water. All lined up, last year the boats would have covered a length of about one kilometer and 900 meters. Today the line would reach two kilometers and 700 meters. 98 percent of last year's exhibitors reconfirmed their presence.
A show dedicated to innovation and sustainability
In the magnificent spaces of the ancient Arsenale, the one where for centuries the naval power of the Serenissima was built, the Venice Boat Show is keeping up with the times of the electric. In fact, many boats of this type will be on display in all the spaces of the Arsenale. But there will also be many hybrid and solar cell innovations. Many world premieres, including the new Anvera 58, Monachus 70, of Absolute 56 Fly, Sessa C3X, of the Falcon tender. Among the sailing boats to report Beneteau, More, the brand new Lagoon 50 and Wauquiez. But also work boats, boats with self-piloting systems, themed super tenders. The nautical sector is a sector that makes an important contribution to the Italian export system.
Italian boating excellence in the world
L'Italy is the world leader for boats of a certain size. But also for all that contour that to boats, in particular those related to the world of luxury, provides furniture and design.
Among the big names in the sector present in the lagoon, the groupsi Ferretti: "Exhibiting in Venice is a privilege and makes the difference". Saint Lawrence"We are here for the first time and have already booked a booth for 2023". Azimuth Benetti" The geographical location, the temporal one and the ability to attract international audiences (in particular from MitteleEurope and Eastern Europe) are the allure of this show". Everyone agrees in speaking of record numbers in the order book, confirming the excellent health of the sector. Ferretti presents some novelties in world premiere such as the awaited Wallypower 58 and the smaller 43X. Which will be alongside one of the flagships, the 106-meter Custom Line 32. Sanlorenzo has brought to Venice, among others, the 32-meter SL106 which embodies the core business of its production divided into different lines. Azimut Benetti returns for the second time with an important fleet, such as the Magellano 66 and the 25-meter in the timeless version.
Nine days of events: between large boats and important events such as the arrival of the Pavia-Venice Raid
In that large dock that is represented by the Venice lagoon, the Boat Show will not be an event for professionals only. Many initiatives, numerous events open to families and visitors. La Marina Militare, which together with the Municipality of Venice (through Vela spa) has collaborated for the realization of this important Italian trade fair event, will be present at the Salone. Both with the stands and carrying three important ships: Procida, Commander Tedeschi and Commander Foscari. And with the spectacular display of an aviation-launch team from two helicopters that will land in the waters of the Arsenale with a precision landing. The nine days of events will also be an opportunity to give space to entertainment with regattas and trophies. But also motorboat events such as the arrival of the Pavia Venezia and regattas with the Salone Nautico Cup. In addition to many opportunities for relaxation, rowing, sailing and rediscovery of the ancient spaces of the Arsenale.
