Rovigo City That Reads
Rovigo, a city that reads

The activities of “Rovigo city that reads” they continue. Following the “reading corners” organized over the summer, this is possible thanks to the various organizations participating in the “reading pact.” This initiative saw widespread participation and sharing in a spirit of listening and serenity, thanks to which the Coordination Board promoted another initiative aimed at promoting reading. We're talking about a corner conceived as part of the “Veneto Reads” reading marathon, representing the entire “City of Rovigo that Reads.”

A series of initiatives that allow us to raise awareness among citizens, and especially among the younger ones, on the importance of readingThe pleasure of reading brings added value to a person, increases one's culture and is a healthy hobby that allows for numerous food for thought.

The readings and their theme

The readings primarily deal with water, the theme chosen by the Region for this project. Water has always been a primary source for our region; it was once the cause of tragic events, but over the years, the residents of Polesine have learned how to benefit from it; just think of the Museum of the Great Rivers.

And it was precisely from the memory of the 1951 flood that the readings developed. From travel stories and landscapes of the Po River and its Delta, to poetic texts that evoked the sounds, plasticity, and joy of water, a vital element for the body and spirit. Furthermore, two Conservatory students delicately and masterfully accompanied the readings, emphasizing that the human soul listens not only to words, but also to music.

Rovigo's future at "Il Veneto legge"

“Rovigo city that reads” also participated in the Festival Tensions, with brief readings aloud. The readings were chosen by four participating groups; the theme was "Geography of Relationships – Identity and Gender," enriching the Festival with further inspiration and emotion. A sensitive topic, yet one that has become extremely important in today's society.
