The La Taverna restaurant boasts a history whose roots are deeply anchored in a glorious past: the local in fact it occupies what was originally the orangery of the Colloredo Castle of Monte Albano, the place where oranges were stored. The imposing manor was built in 1302 by order of a powerful feudal lord of ancient Swabian lineage, Viscount Guglielmo di Mels. The Friulians know it as "The castle of writers and storytellers." Why? The poet Ermes da Colloredo, the traveler and author Stanislao Nievo, and the great writer Ippolito Nievo.

The historical origins of such a fascinating place blend with the desire to redevelop these perfectly preserved rooms.
