In the draft of the maneuver, significant changes are envisaged in the sectors of pensions, healthcare and relief for mothers with support for families. Here in the detail an overview of the main proposals of the new maneuver.
Relief for mothers and increase in minimum pensions
1. More generous pensions for all: The first draft of the Budget proposes a complete adjustment of pensions to the inflation rate. Pensions up to 4 times the minimum (around 2.000 euros) will be increased by 90%. For those between 4 and 5 times the minimum, the increase will be 90%, while for those above 10 times the minimum (around 5.000 euros per month), the increase will be 22%, compared to the current 32%.
2. Contribution relief for mothers: The draft Maneuver provides for a 100% contribution relief up to a maximum of 3.000 euros per year for working mothers. This discount applies to all mothers, except those working in the domestic sector. Furthermore, the duration of the discount varies based on the number of children.
3. Greater support for families: The draft budget introduces an increase in the bonus for public and private nursery school fees. This increase is intended exclusively for parents with at least two children born after 1 January 2024 and with an ISEE limit of 40.000 euros.
4. New requirements for advancing your pension: For workers who started paying contributions in 1996, the draft measure increases the minimum amount necessary to access the pension advance. The threshold rises from 2,8 to 3,3 times the social allowance, or from 1.409 euros to 1.660 euros. Furthermore, the limit of 1,5 times the social allowance for accessing a pension at 67 is eliminated.
5. Funds for non-deferrable needs: The draft Maneuver provides for 200 million euros in the following two years (2024 and 2025) to finance the Fund to meet needs that cannot be deferred. This fund is traditionally used to support changes approved during the parliamentary examination of the budget law.
These are just some of the important changes contained in the draft Maneuver, which also involves sectors such as culture, taxes and healthcare. Stay tuned for further details and developments regarding this budget bill.
