Breaking a record isn't always a good thing. Indeed, in some cases, it can prove to be catastrophic. We are not talking about the just concluded Olympics di Tokyo 2020 and the splendid performance of the Italian team, but of the record heat that is holding Italy in its "infernal grip". To win the gold medal of the afa was the country of Floridia (SIRACUSA), where a temperature of 48,8%. This is the highest temperature ever reached in Europe, which exceeds the record of 48% ad Athens in a 1977 and 48,5% a Catenanuova (Enna) in 1999. However, it must be considered that this is a data reported by an "unofficial" source, that is SIAS extension (Sicilian agrometeorological information service). On an official level, the meteorological service of theair Force did not confirm the same data, recording the highest temperature a Sigonella (44,4%).

Record heat in Sicily: the next cities with a red stamp

Unfortunately, the record heat is not over yet. In the next few hours, especially in the Friday day, very high temperatures are still expected due toLucifer anticyclone, with its hot winds coming from the Saharan desert. Furthermore, not only will fear the strong heat Sicilia, Sardinia or the South in general. The next waves will in fact affect all of Italy. The record heat will touch some large urban centers including Rome, Palermo, Bologna, Florence, Campobasso, Perugia, Bari, Cagliari, Brescia, Latina, Viterbo, Rieti, Frosinone, but also Bolzano e Trieste. According to the bulletin of the Ministry of Health, in these cities from red dot (level of alert 3), the health risk is very high for the entire population, not just for the most vulnerable.

The peak of scorching heat, with temperatures over 40 degrees, is expected in the day of Friday August 13 and it could then loosen in the following days. Even if the 48,8 recorded in Floridia are not reached, experts always recommend great caution. As usual, it is not recommended to go out during the hottest hours of the day, and it will be necessary constantly hydrate, to avoid the unwanted effects of the record heat of these days. L'Lucifer anticyclone is putting a strain on this Italian August. In addition, some regions, including Sicilia e Sardinia, in the next few days they may return in yellow zone and that means a mask must also be worn outdoors. Citizens and thousands of tourists around the beaches and cities therefore risk having to suffer more from the heat due to the mask. If Lucifer is already here, hell could still come.
