Raimondo Vianello was one of the pioneers of Italian television. How he made us laugh! His personality, his culture and his irony, combined with his impeccable manners and his gentlemanly appearance made him unforgettable!

Raimondo Vianello

Raimondo Vianello was born in Rome May 7, 1922. The son of an admiral who dreamed of a diplomatic career for him, he took part in a play for fun. Thus he discovered his talent and his passion for the world of entertainment that welcomed him with open arms.
He worked extensively as an actor and screenwriter. There are many film in which he starred. Among the most famous we remember  Italian love  with Walter Chiari; 7 golden monks with Aldo Fabrizi; Today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow with Catherine Spaak, just to name a few.

In 1988 the situation comedy was broadcast on television for the first time Vianello house.
As the name suggests, this serial comedy is ideally set in the home of Sandra and Raimondo, and tells the situations and misadventures of the nice couple's everyday life. The success was enormous, the Italians loved the two actors very much and faithfully followed the series of episodes in which the characters' sympathy and irony blended with their spontaneity and naturalness. The phrase pronounced by Sandra Mondaini at the end of the episode is famous: " What a bore, what a beard, what a beard, what a bore ". The last episode of the successful television program was shot in 2007. Casa Vianello has kept its audience company for 19 years!

Dry cleaning

Usually, perhaps, especially in the world of entertainment and sport, as we age, job opportunities decrease. This was not the case for Raimondo Vianello. Enthusiast football, he was offered the opportunity to conduct a football information and entertainment program called Pressing.
Once again it was a success. Raimondo Vianello, always faithful to his style, competent, measured and very nice, proved to be the right person to manage the comments and the spirits of guests and fans. His satisfaction was great, he had to follow and comment on football matches, he had to do it for work!

Sandra and Raimondo

We all loved and followed Raimondo Vianello and Sandra Mondaini. They were so familiar to us that they were simply Sandra and Raimondo. They had met when they were young and married in 1961.
Their career has always been intertwined with their private life, many of us are still convinced that the married life of our darlings was the same as we saw it on the screens. They never had children but adopted an entire Filipino family. They are remembered by all as a good and generous couple.

Disappearance

Raimondo Vianello died at the age of 87, on 15 April 2010 at the San Raffaele hospital in Milan. A month later, Sandra Mondaini, suffering, moved and inconsolable, withdraws the Isimbardi Prize in memory of her husband. It is the highest honor that the province of Milan gives to those who have distinguished themselves with their personal and professional behavior, giving prestige to the territory.
