La candidacy of our iconic and healthy Italian cuisine has been promoted by the magazine The Italian kitchen, together withItalian Academy of Cuisine and the Casa Artusi Foundation; it is also supported by the government through the ministries of agriculture and culture, which launched it on 23 March.
The logo
The students of the Medal School of the State Printing and Mint Institute. This is what the logo depicts: a frying pan in the hands of a cook from which, together with pasta, pizza, oil, cheeses and so on, also the profiles of many cultural assets of our nation emerge from the Tower of Pisa at the Colosseum. Also present are the images of Dante and Leonardo, Rita Levi Montalcini.
Below is the slogan: «I love Italian cuisine».
The image recalls the act of preparing food as a ritual and how enhancement of food and cultural heritage.
The logo presentation ceremony
The city of Pompei it was chosen for the recent discoveries that have brought to light the most ancient evidence of Italian cuisine, including the ancestor of pizza.
Present at the event were the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida, Gennaro Sangiuliano of Culture, Matteo Piantedosi of the Interior, as well as the Deputy Foreign Minister Edmondo Cirielli, the director of the Archaeological Park, Gabriel Zuchtriegel and the CEO of Poligrafico dello Stato, who created the logo, Francesco Soro.
The verdict will take place in 2025.
