The finalists of the Caccuri literary prize
Many are the topical issues at the center of the event, as evidenced by the essays selected for the 2021 edition that will compete for the coveted recognition in the final evening of 10 August conducted by Luca Barbarossa together with LaC TV journalist Francesca Lagoteta: “Beyond the storm. How will we go back to being together ”(Mondadori) di Paolo Crepet, "The school will save us" (Solferino) by Dacia Maraini, “And they all lived happily ever after” (Cairo) by Christine Parodi and “Dancing in the Storm. Journey into the fragile perfection of the immune system "(Feltrinelli) di Antonella Viola.
An in-depth study on the pandemic and on the Coronavirus health emergency could not be missing, to try to understand how our body and its immune system works together with Antonella Viola, who in her "Dancing in the storm"Builds a map to guide us in this revolution and invites us to look inside ourselves, to understand the rationality of our organism, which is a wonderful communication system in which each part collaborates with the other, sending signals and constantly translating them , relentlessly measuring himself against the unknown that comes from outside and facing it. An invitation to remind us that none of us can ignore the others and the environment in which we live and to learn from our immune system to go through the storm without fear.
One cannot save oneself is also the message of Paolo Crepet, who in the pages full of
passion of his "Beyond the storm"Invites us to look to the future actively to overcome the collective trauma we have lived and are experiencing, to cultivate the imagination and leverage our imaginative strength to repair what has cracked within us and around us, in relationships, in everyday life, in the workplace. The construction of the future also passes through a mature collective commitment to rediscover the truest and deepest meaning of relationships and to shape what the world will be like beyond the storm, especially for the younger generations.
And it is precisely from the young that we should start again, second Dacia Maraini, because the school can make a difference especially in times of crisis and it is necessary to restore the resources and centrality it deserves to education. In his "The school will save us"Collects stories, ideas, battles and memories of a lifetime, from lessons at the Liceo in Palermo to teaching in the Rebibbia prison. A journey through the schools, also through the power of the imagination, from which emerges the urgency of guaranteeing children a better education to give Italy a concrete hope in the future.
But there will also be an opportunity to look beyond the pandemic and national borders together with Cristina Parodi who in her "And they lived happily ever after?"Recomposes and recounts the passages of the media story of the Dukes of Sussex that has captured the attention of the whole world, showing us how Megxit has in fact brought to completion the revolution begun by Lady Diana. If once, in fact, girls dreamed of marrying a prince to become princesses and live in the castle, today Meghan taught us that a girl can fall in love with a prince and take him away from the castle to save him from his ghosts and live happily ever after. .
However, they will not be the only topics at the center of the debate, further opportunities will be offered by the Literary Presentations, among which, “Diary of the last night. Ciano-Mussolini, the final battle " (La Lepre) by Mauro Mazza interviewed by Giordano Bruno Guerri, "Don't miss anything" (Mondadori) by Luca Barbarossa interviewed by Maria Faragò, “Don't call them heroes. Falcone, Borsellino and other stories of the fight against the mafia " (Mondadori) by Nicola Gratteri interviewed by Paolo Di Giannantonio, "Redemption. Bergamo and Italy: notes for a new possible future " (Rizzoli) by Giorgio Gori interviewed by Antonella Grippo, "The strength of women" (Perrone) by Adriana Pannitteri interviewed by Cataldo Calabretta, and many others.
Not just books: the evening program, full of musical events, will be inaugurated Friday August 6 from the concert of the PFM (Premiata Forneria Marconi), to continue Saturday 7 with the concert by Enzo Avitabile "Stories of music and words from the great South", the monologues by Stefani Massini on Sunday 8, up to the music and words show by Roberto Vecchioni, special guest of the final evening with "Flight and landing lessons" , his latest book published by Einaudi, the passionate, cultured, ironic and original story of the "days of madness" with his students, when they met in a park and each time started from a different topic and then wandered without knowing where get. As happens in the book with his students, Prof. Vecchioni offers a lure, a foothold for the public to cross the space of history, literature and song together. Afterwards, Andrea Perroni's cabaret that closes the festival.
