Two days of reflection and debate. Palazzolo returns to the spotlight with the Fava Giovani Award. This is the annual event promoted by the Fava Foundation and the Palazzolo coordination. Two days of events to commemorate the relevance of the thought of the journalist from Palazzolo, killed by the Mafia. It will also be an opportunity to recognize young people and journalists who have distinguished themselves with their investigations into the truth.
The Fava Youth Award has reached its eleventh edition.
The journalism prize named after Giuseppe Fava “The vice of memory” and dedicated to young people has reached its eleventh edition. This year will also see the second edition of the "I Vicoli di Fava" award, dedicated to young elementary and middle school students. An increasingly important event born from the collaboration between the Coordination Joseph Fava, the Giuseppe Fava Foundation, and the Dahlia Association. And this year, with the valuable support of Libera Siracusa, the Palazzolo Anti-Racket Association, and Verba Volant.
The Fava Youth Award was given to Giorgio Mottola.
This year's recipient will be journalist Giorgio Mottola, author of the important investigation "The Factory of Fear" for Report. The investigation focused on secret negotiations with Russia involving former Interior Minister Salvini. The first meeting will be on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with "News from the Web: Journalism Between Fake News and News." The meeting will be held at the former Palazzolo Acreide Municipal Library. Giorgio Mottola, a video journalist for Report RAI3 (2020 G. Fava Giovani Award winner), and Francesca Andreozzi (President of the Fava Foundation) will meet with high school students from Palazzolo. The meeting will be moderated by Marta Silvestre, a journalist for Meridionews.

The alleys of Fava
Another important initiative that was created and launched as part of the award is the competition dedicated to schools. In fact, elementary and middle school students take part in "I Vicoli di Fava. Second Edition". The award includes a literary section and one dedicated to the graphic arts. Furthermore, the Fava Foundation wanted to present a gift to the Palazzolo middle school this year: a guitar in memory of Elena Fava.
