Even this year, as in 2020, will be a different Easter Monday from other years. Due to the coronavirus emergency we will not be able to go in a group to the sea, in the countryside or in the mountains as the tradition of this day dictates. L'Italy closes for the Easter holidays. In fact, remember that even on Easter Monday you cannot travel outside the region or from one municipality to another, except for proven reasons.

The fact of not being able to celebrate Easter Monday as we would like, must not take away our smile and above all our appetite. Let us therefore think about how to give a festive aspect to this indispensable day for Italians. You can start thinking about a rich lunch, typical of a feast day. Those who have the opportunity can have a barbecue and for those who cannot, green light for omelettes, quiches, rice salads, in short, everything that resembles an outdoor picnic. It is unthinkable to give up what is left of the gods desserts of Easter day; from the Easter egg to the Colomba, to the Pastiera and of course to all the typical sweets of the Easter tradition for each region of Italy.

Easter Monday or Monday of the Angel

Easter Monday or Easter Monday is also Easter Monday. On this day we remember the meeting of the angel with the women who came to the tomb of Jesus. Mary Magdalene, Mary mother of James and Joseph, and Salome went to the place where Jesus had been buried to embalm his body. The women found the tomb open and were frightened. But behold, an angel appeared and told them that Jesus was risen.

Let's hope that next year will be a different Easter and Easter Monday than today. Days of celebration where the protagonists will be hugs, laughter and reuniting in serenity, affection and friendship. Happy Easter Monday to everyone!
