Italy is ready to restart the tourism sector, one of the main economic engines of the country. There are many initiatives designed to attract local and foreign visitors, such as the one active in Parma: "the second night is ours".
This is a project of the Municipality of Emilia-Romagna which provides for a reimbursement of expenses for all hotel and non-hotel facilities, with a VAT number, which will decide to facilitate tourists with two nights accommodation for the price of one on weekends. It will thus be much easier to try your hand at discovering the city, including gastronomy, history, monuments and culture.
How the "second night is ours" offer works
Anyone wishing to take advantage of the offer "the second night is ours", active in the city of Parma, must book within a specific time frame. This is the inclusive period between 2 July and 31 August e between October 15th and December 31st. As mentioned, the offer two nights for the price of one only concerns weekends, i.e. from Friday to Sunday. The Municipality will give the foreseen reimbursements to the Promoparma Hoteliers Consortium, which will then have the task of transferring the sums to the accommodation facilities. The idea is to finance everything by exploiting the resources of the tourist tax.

Summer 2021 cries out for a restart all over Italy. Parma therefore makes no difference, especially because it is Italian Capital of Culture 2020-21. Many events on the calendar, with music as the absolute protagonist. Space for theatrical performances aimed at an audience of adults and children. There will be extraordinary openings of monuments and palaces, as well as many concerts. Culture will dominate in every corner of the city, with literary encounters with authors, dance performances, theater, exhibitions, exhibitions and film screenings.
Everything began in mid-June and will continue until mid-September. The Councilor for Culture Michael War presented the program, explaining how the Municipality has given its support, together with the Ministry of Culture, to as many as 29 projects that were found to be suitable. A total funding of over 200 thousand euros.
As mentioned, the music will be the protagonist and aimed at all bands and genres, starting from the classical. A great tradition to be respected for the Parmesan area, which was the birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi. The International Organ Festival is of great importance, with performances ranging from Bach to opera, passing through the symphonic productions of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
