The president of the Foundation was present at the press conference Franco Magnani, the councilor for culture of the Municipality of Parma Michael War, the curators of the event, the sole director of Sinapsi Group Davide Battistini.
12 thematic meetings
The exhibition will be deepened by 12 thematic meetings, designed to collectively reflect on the future of the city. The 12 conferences of the review “Parma Società Civile. Restarting after Covid 19 "will take place every Tuesday at 17 pm, from 14 September onwards. They will aim to raise citizens' awareness of the problems and quality of the city of tomorrow. All in order to trigger a collective reflection useful for promoting public debate.
Reflect on the past and future of the city
The exhibition, curated by Dario Costi, Frances Magri e Carlo Mambriani, aims to invite visitors to reflect on the past and future of the city. This will be possible through the presentation of a series of projects, carried out in the last five years by undergraduates and doctoral students and students of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Parma. The aforementioned projects are related to the historical documents preserved in the art collections of Cariparma. The exhibition is made by Cariparma Foundation and from Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Parma, under the patronage of Parma Capital of Culture 2021 + 21 and Fai - Delegation of Parma and the support of Synapse Group, Media Partner for social communication. The entire route aims to offer visitors a vision of the future of the city seen by young researchers. A green, accessible and welcoming city, capable of highlighting the historical-artistic heritage.
Projects and destinations for a city of the future
Thanks to the exhibition, citizens will have the opportunity to express themselves on the projects and possible destinations that can be given to the historical heritage. As explained by Carlo Mambriani, Professor of History of Architecture at the University of Parma: “In this exhibition, the planning of the past is related to that of the present. During the modern age the dukes also called many architects from outside Parma to improve the city and the court. Several of these drawings, sometimes executed, sometimes not, are kept in the Cariparma Foundation Art Collections. They they allow us to compare what was once thought to improve the Small Capital and what could be done today or tomorrow, thanks to the calculations of the students of the University's architecture courses ".
Dario Costi, professor of Architectural and Urban Composition, declared: “The golden city of Parma is the system of public spaces, the heritage with a collective vocation but also civil society. We are all called to think about how to systematize the extraordinary treasure we have and which can become the prospect of our future ".
The sharing room
The exhibition will close with the sharing room. A real symbol for what it represents. It is the environment that closes the exhibition, where projects can be voted on from the day of the inauguration. It represents the moment in which visitors - both in presence and remotely - will be able to express themselves on the future destinations of the scenarios presented in the path itself. This in relation to the historical-artistic heritage available, identified on the basis of the buildings surveyed by the Civil Atlas of Architecture.
The plan of the Golden City
Another symbol of the exhibition is the plan of the Golden City, developed and created by the students of the Department of Architecture. In addition to it, some works created by the artist will be exhibited Paul Mezzadri. The latter represent the topical signs of the urban fabric (Steccata, Baptistery, Buttresses of the Pilotta, the Portals of our churches and a symbolic City Gate). The exhibition, which can be accessed for free, will be open Tuesday and Thursday (15.30 - 18), Saturday and Sunday (10 - 12.30, 15.30 - 18). Guided tours will be held every Thursday afternoon, upon reservation.
