Peace and work, these are the two 'key words' of the May Day concert which, after the pandemic emergency, returns to Piazza San Giovanni a Roma. The big event is promoted by the trade unions CGIL, CISL, UIL and is organized by iCompany. The musical marathon will be broadcast live on Rai3 and Rai Radio2, starting from 15.30 pm on May 19st, until 20 pm and then from XNUMX pm to midnight. "After two particularly difficult years of pandemic and with the tragic war in progress in Ukraine - the organizers underline - the May Day concert takes on a symbolic and profound meaning. It becomes an opportunity to discuss the present, to face the future with responsibility and hope. The goal is to create a moment of aggregation and awareness that can encourage discussion on issues concerning social life. From work to safety, from rights to health, from tolerance to hospitality ".

The Concertone therefore continues in its avant-garde stage line to return a reliable photograph of Italian music by hosting new realities of the national scene and already established names. Nourished as always the participation of artists: from Carmen Consoli to Ornella Vanoni, from Enrico Ruggeri to Marco Mengoni, from Fabrizio Moro to Clementino. Thanks to the collaboration with Siae, the only international guests of the 2022 edition of the concert are Go-A, the band that represented Ukraine last year at the Eurovision Song Contest. In addition, personalities such as the writer Stefano Massini, the actor Claudio Santamaria, the journalists Giovanna Botteri and Riccardo Iacona, the television presenter Valerio Lundini will also go on stage. The actress Ambra Angiolini will present.

RaiRadio2, official voice of the concert of May Day, will tell live everything that happens on the stage and in the backstage of Piazza San Giovanni. Commenting on the first part of the concert from the position in the square will be Diletta Parlangeli and Elena Di Cioccio. And, starting from 20, Gino Castaldo and Melissa Greta Marchetto.

In the afternoon, the 3 winners of 1MNEXT 2022, the contest of the May Day concert which every year, among the over a thousand subscribers, rewards the best 3 emerging proposals. The winners were selected during the live final on April 23 in Rome by the Quality Jury composed of Massimo Bonelli (artistic director of the May Day Concert, president of the jury), Anna Rampinelli (A&R Manager Warner Music Italy). Claudio Cabona (Rockol), Lucia Stacchiotti (iCompany), Barbara Pierro (Cgil), Nicola Di Grigoli (Cisl) and Francesco Melis (Uil). The overall winner of the contest will finally be announced during the concert.
