Italian pasta, the pleasure of the table that knows no boundaries. World Pasta Day is celebrated all over the world, now in its 23rd edition; an event conceived and promoted by the Italian Food Union and IPO (International Pasta Organization).
#Haveagoodpasta
The 2021 edition of this planetary initiative comes after almost two years of pandemic emergency that is affecting the life of the whole world. In this regard, the promoters of the international day have thought about donating a plate of pasta to those who do not have it, given the severe economic recession that is affecting many countries around the world.
In fact, Unione Italiana Food has launched the initiative #Haveagoodpasta. Anyone wishing to participate, today 25 October, can publish on their social channels the shot of a plate of pasta with the hashtag #Haveagoodpasta. Each shared shot will be uploaded to the dedicated website "Al Dente" and will 'load' an online counter up to 300 pasta dishes. Foods that will be donated to Caritas canteens in four major Italian cities: Milan, Rome, Naples and Palermo. Thus, the Belpaese is ideally united from the Alps to the islands, thanks to the most famous food of Italian cuisine, pasta!
Water, flour, semolina and for some specialties even eggs: simple ingredients that give life to a food that is famous on all the tables of the planet. Pasta is part of the rich and healthy basket of the Mediterranean diet which is not just gastronomy but a real lifestyle. Diet that allows you to eat healthy and keep fit. It is estimated that in Italy there are over 300 types of pasta: a culinary richness that has no equal.
Italian pasta
From the classics spaghetti which are our business card from one end of the planet to the other, to a 'catalog' of shapes and specialties that is a paradise for starred chefs and lovers of good food. A success attributed to the Mediterranean diet which nourishes with balance and which is recognized by'Unesco including intangible heritage of humanity.
The secret of success
Pasta is liked and continues to conquer even the most demanding palates for its simplicity but also for its versatility. To bring a good plate of pasta to the table, just season it with tomato sauce, a few basil leaves and a sprinkling of grated cheese. And the first gourmet is ready! But of course the sauces, dips and condiments to accompany the pasta are truly innumerable. The typical recipe books of the Italian regions are true 'sacred texts' of the tricolor gastronomic culture.
And then there is another factor that should not be overlooked: a good plate of pasta at the table makes everyone agree, both young and old. You write 'pasta' and read family, an air of celebration and home. Last but not least, in times of ecological campaigns to defend the planet, we must underline that pasta 'is good for the environment. Its packaging allows a 100% recovery of packaging materials, without waste. In addition to the packaging, cooking can also be green using special techniques. Let's remember, therefore, that with the pressure cooker or with the infusion you can save gas and energy: and so we will be environmentalists even in the kitchen!
