The crackdown on cell phones
The main changes concern above all those who drive while using their cell phone, for whom the following are foreseen: fines from 250 euros to 1.000 euros plus automatic suspension of the license for one week, if you have them at least 10 points. Penalties are also increased for those who, while driving under the influence of alcohol or after having taken drugs, cause a fatal accident or cause very serious injuries. In these cases, the penalties for road homicide become more severe: from 2 to 7 years.
Use of narcotic substances
Anyone who drives after having taken drugs is subject to the following penalties: immediate suspension of the driving licence and revocation for three years in the event of confirmation of the initial findings, so now, a positive drug test is enough.
What changes for new drivers
As regards the pink sheet issued to new drivers, will be released only after having completed a minimum number of exercises in a driving school on the motorway or on extra-urban roads and in night vision conditions.
