School has been going on for almost a month now throughout Italy, but the Teacher's card, introduced by Law 107/2015, art. 1, paragraph 121, is not yet available for no prof. The wait is growing day by day, especially because this year it seems that the teacher card has a different amount than in the past, a lower amount. Last year, the activation procedure for the teacher card started on September 27 and the Teacher Card application was reopened to allow teachers to manage their bonus. This year, all is still quiet, but the procedure should be opened by October.
Teacher Card: Whose Responsibility?
We remind you that this service it is not available for temporary workers with short-term replacements or until June 30th, but only for permanent teachers and for teachers with contracts until August 31. This card can be used for professional development of teachers, for the purchase of books, for access to cultural places such as cinemas, museums, software, theaters and cinemas, university degree courses and master's degrees.
Teacher Card, Here's the New Amount
The hypothesis of a reduction in the amount of the card had already been put forward last year, but then, the proposed cut was not confirmed. In the next Budget Law, "the cut" could be postponed to the 2025/2026 school year.
If the rumours of a decrease are confirmed, theamount could drop by 15%. For the 2024/2025 school year, in fact, the amount of 500 euros in the electronic wallet of tenured teachers and annual substitutes until August 31 should drop to 425 euros. This is what is leaking, but, we repeat, not yet confirmed.
