The training path
Born in 1987, Noemi Listo studied at the Syracuse Art Institute, majoring in painting and decoration; she then attended the graphic design course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Catania. This training honed her creative talent, never shelving it. For years, Noemi worked for a graphic design agency on commission for private clients. It was a well-paid job, but one that didn't fully express her creativity. So Noemi decided to work freelance, with a home studio. She creates portraits for private commissions, and also works for personal inspiration. In this case, the artist communicates, through images, the unique characteristics of different human states of mind. Noemi has received encouragement from family and friends to pursue her artistic calling, something that makes her feel alive.
The creations of Noemi Listo
The illustrations and portraits recall a multiplicity of styles, from classic to contemporary, up to the drawings in which the author concentrates everything that is linked to fantasy and nature. The portraits also reveal a contrast of colors that highlights the uniqueness of the creations. Noemi engraves her drawings mainly in ink; she also uses hatching and thin lines, both done mainly with pens of various thicknesses. But in recent years the illustrator has increasingly tended to specialize in tattooAn activity that brings her great satisfaction, first and foremost because it leaves a part of herself on people's skin. Drawings, in particular, travel, even around the world, so as they move, they tell stories wherever they go.
Noemi Listo, with her creations, practices the story in pictures: She expresses both what comes from her deepest essence and gives voice to others through art. This second aspect finds greater expression in the creation of commissioned tattoos and portraits. Noemi puts herself at the service of the outside world, offering to represent other people's feelings, emotions, perceptions, and fantasies. All of this brings her great satisfaction and drives her to move forward.
Collaboration with other creative figures
Noemi Listo was one of the four organizing souls of the Drawing Festival 2023, held in the heart of Ortigia on the weekends from September 16th to October 8th. The synergy with Serena Gilè, Anna Takahashi, and Agnese Milazzo resulted in an explosive initiative of creativity, especially for the little ones, but a relationship of mutual respect. Being peers, their creative journeys ran parallel. A collaboration that already took place in 2021 with The ways of talent, A journey to explore and discover all the nooks and crannies that are hotbeds of art and creativity. The initiative was organized by Agnese and Serena; Noemi was exhibiting her illustrations.
