Monitoring of infections and use of anti-Covid masks to contain the spread of virus. The information campaign to defeat the 'invisible enemy' does not stop. The data released by the Ministry of Health say that today they have been registered 14.245 (yesterday 11.831) new positive cases with an increase in tampons equal to 102.974. The new deaths are 347 (364) while the discharged are healed 14.746 (yesterday 9.166). Overall, the positive cases are 576.214, basically 848 less than yesterday. These data clearly lead us to strictly comply with the anti-Covid security measures and in particular not to stop wearing masks.
Anti-Covid masks
Wearing the mask correctly not only helps prevent Sars-Cov-2 infection, it also means less anxiety and loneliness and greater general well-being. To discover that the use of the mask is associated with greater mental well-being is a study that appeared in pre-print in the Medrxiv international archive. The study is awaiting publication in a specialized journal. A team of researchers from the Psychology Department of the University of Edinburgh, in UK, collected data via the Qualtrics platform between April and June 2020. To arrive at the study results, the researchers recruited 11 participants across the UK who completed CovidLife surveys.
This is an initiative set up by the Scottish university to try to measure and understand the impact of the pandemic on the health and well-being of the nation. The researchers, led by Drew Altschul, found that, unlike prejudices, people who constantly wore face masks generally had better mental health than those who didn't. The study found that the odds of feeling anxious were 58 percent lower among those who wore the mask all the time. The likelihood of experiencing depressive symptoms was 25 percent lower among people who wore masks most of the time. Finally, the odds of feeling lonely for wearers were 67 percent lower.
