Also this year the 'Nduja di Spilinga festival returns more punctually than ever, a small town in the Vibonese area which has now become the world capital of the typical Calabrian sausage. Born in 1975, the Spilinga festival is a gastronomic, folkloristic and cultural event, which has now become a cult event in the Calabrian summer. As per tradition, the festival experiences its key moment on August 8 every year. But the celebrations in honor of 'his majesty la' nduja begin a few days earlier. The festival is also an opportunity to relive old traditions of the past, with the giants Mata and Griffin that parade to the rhythm of the drum through the alleys of the village. There is no shortage of popular games and of course also activities for the little ones.

Already from 4 August the chefs of Corrado Rossi's Maccaroni Chef Academy, led by Roberto Spizzirri, will lead the “kitchen brigade”. Among the succulent recipes that you can taste that of cavatelli with potato cream from Sila IGP, 'nduja from Spilinga, smoked provola, and crumbled bacon in the form of parmesan. the rhythms of Calabrian popular music. On 5 August the great Mimmo Cavallaro will give life to his popular music concert. On 6 August it will be the turn of Den Harrow, a great interpreter of pop music, from the 80s / 90s. These are just some of the names of the festival that is being prepared in Spilinga, not only to taste the 'nduja but also to cheer the thousands of tourists who will arrive from Italy and abroad.

The people of Spilinga, in fact, live there Festival with enthusiasm and with the desire to offer the many visitors their hospitality and the genuineness of the various traditional dishes based on 'nduja. The various food stands offer delicious dishes with the spicy sausage. From pasta to meatballs, from sandwiches to pizzas, bruschetta and many other specialties prepared in accordance with tradition.

The Nduja Village, a real village where you can meet and have fun with music, show cooking and gourmet dishes. The party ends with the representation of the struggles of the Spilinghesi against the invasions of the Saracen pirates, or the "Camejuzzu i focu", to the rhythm of Calabrian tarantella. The "Camejuzzu" is the bamboo camel, symbol of the Saracen pirates who, at the end of the challenge, burns with fireworks.
