Museums and public spaces, towards relational spaces

Next June 3rd at Mediterranean Biodiversity Park of Catanzaro, the press conference for the second edition of the museum education project will be held Museums and Publics: Toward an Inclusive Revolution of Museums as Relational Spaces curated by the cultural association DI.CO. Servizi Museali, which this year boasts the collaboration of theENS - National Deaf Organization, Catanzaro Section and the patronage of the Ministry of Culture.

After MARCA Museum of Arts from Catanzaro for this second edition it will be the International Sculpture Park, the museum open-air atmosphere With its public art collection in the heart of Catanzaro's city center, the museum offers the ideal platform to launch a new and broad debate on museum accessibility and usability, as well as on cultural participation, with a view to raising socio-cultural awareness of physical, perceptual, and cultural barriers.

For the occasion, the intervention of the artist Roberto Pugliese will be presented to the public, Concerto for Still Life Variant 2023, Edited by Silvia Pujia, A multimedia work activated by an embrace, a symbolic gesture of reconciliation with nature, which, through vibration, allows for an inclusive experience in line with the project's mission.

Appointment in the garden

The event is part of the initiative Appointment in the garden, from the theme The Music of the Garden, promoted by APGI-Parks and Gardens Association of Italy under the patronage of Ministry of Culture and in accordance with the Rendez-vous aux jardins initiative, which will take place simultaneously in over 20 European countries.

Program

An inclusive and participatory guided tour of the sculpture park in Italian Sign Language (LIS) is planned for 5:00 PM. This tour is also designed for children, who will participate in a treasure hunt/memory game among the park's sculptures. A press conference will be held at 6:00 PM. Speakers will include Mario Panarello, APGI regional representative for the Calabria Region; Silvia Pujia, artistic director of the project and curator of the event; and Roberto Pugliese, the artist. Rossella Talotta, president of the DI.CO. Museum Services Association; Antonio Mirijello, regional president of the ENS; and Serafino Mazza, president of the ENS Catanzaro Section.

At the same time, the publications published at the conclusion of the first edition of Museums and Publics by Magonza Editore will be presented.
