The recipe we are proposing to you today concerns the milk soaked biscuits, delicious for breakfast or as a snack with tea. 

Light and fragrant, ideal for starting the day.

Ingredients:

  • 250 g 00 flour
  • 1 egg 
  • 80 g sugar
  • 50 g. butter at room temperature
  • 60 ml warm milk
  • 1 sachet baking powder
  • 1 Lemon zest (untreated)
  • 50 g chocolate chips
  • Brown sugar to taste

Preparation of milk biscuits

To prepare the dough, by hand or with a mixer, you must first: mix the eggs with the sugar, butter and grated lemon zest

As soon as the ingredients are mixed well add the flour and the yeast, both well sifted.

Form a smooth, soft dough, cover it with a cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes on the work surface.

Preheat the oven to 180°.

Take the dough and separate small pieces so as to form strips 3 cm wide and 10 cm long.

Roll each strip in brown sugar taking care to distribute it on all sides.

Place the strips on a tpan lined with baking paperslightly spaced apart from each other of a couple of centimetres, considering that they will expand during cooking.

Insert the pan into the hot oven for 15/20 minutes at 180°.

Let them brown and take them out of the oven.

Let them cool before tasting them and then store them in a tin box.
